High-strength bonds
These BÜFA®-Bonding Pastes are based on an elasticised vinyl ester resin. They are characterised by excellent strength with outstanding mechanical and chemical properties and very good thixotropic behaviour on vertical surfaces.
Application: They are suitable, among other things, for bonding rotor blades in wind energy plants, boat building, pipe bonds and anywhere where high dynamic loads over large temperature ranges are required.
Processing: They can be processed both by hand and with suitable metering systems from BÜFA Tec.
Optimal laminate constructions
These BÜFA®-Bonding Pastes have various resin bases, depending on application. They are fibre-reinforced bonding pastes characterised by very good mechanical properties, in particular with regard to impact resistance, elongation at break and thermal stability.
Application: They are particularly suitable as “liquid laminate” between the gelcoat and glass mat and are used with moulded parts with sharp edges and awkward shapes to smooth out the contours. This is intended to ensure that, when constructing the laminate, the glass fibres are well positioned all over. This avoids the need to position the fibres and therefore the formation of cavities between the gelcoat and the laminate. They are mainly used in boat building and in the commercial vehicle and car industries.
Processing: They can be processed both by hand and with suitable metering systems from BÜFA Tec.
Sandwich constructions
These BÜFA®-Bonding Pastes are based largely on a flexible mixture of unsaturated ortho-phthalic acid polyester resins, dissolved in styrene. They are medium to highly reactive, low-density sandwich bonding pastes, filled with organic lightweight fillers.
Application: They are particularly suitable for bonding GF-UP laminates with core layers made from synthetic hard foam or balsa wood in which good mechanical properties and light weight are required at the same time. The sandwich constructions are mainly used in the boat building sector, the rail vehicle industry and the automotive industry.
Processing: They can be processed both by hand and with suitable metering systems from BÜFA Tec.
Special bonding pastes
These BÜFA®-Bonding Pastes have various resin bases or natural wax components, depending on application. They are high-quality bonding pastes or fillers in fibre-reinforced or unreinforced form and a paste-like or spreadable consistency with a range of specific characteristics.
Application: Depending on the customer application, adapted formulations are available in the special bonding paste range, which are suitable, among other things, for filling defective surface structures or as repair filler, can be sanded and polished and can include technical fire safety or elastic properties.
They are suitable for applications in mould and model making and for bonding laminates in which high chemical and/or hydrolysis resistance or structural strength is required, to fill cavities and close blowholes and for temporary modelling of smaller geometric structures. They are characterised by excellent adhesion on most sub-surfaces.

Bonded joints with metal and wood
These BÜFA®-Bonding Pastes are based on a THP resin. They are white, fibre-reinforced standard bonding pastes with a paste-like, spreadable consistency. The products have high elasticity and are characterised in their cured state by viscoelastic bonded joints.
Application: They are suitable as fibre-reinforced standard bonding pastes for bonding cured GF-UP laminates in various applications in which there are no specific requirements for the thermal deformation temperature and for adhesive bonds involving metal and wood, especially in boat building, rail vehicle construction and the automotive industry.
Processing: They can be processed both by hand and with specially designed metering systems from BÜFA Tec .
Structural and standard bonds
These BÜFA®-Bonding Pastes are based on various unsaturated polyester resins. They are unreinforced or fibre-reinforced standard bonding pastes filled with minerals in a paste-like, spreadable consistency. Feel free to ask about our styrene-free bonding pastes for structural applications.
Application: The products are characterised, among other things, by good to very good mechanical properties, very good thixotropic behaviour on vertical surfaces and high impact resistance.
They have good working properties and a broad range of applications. They are suitable for binding cured GF-UP laminates with short cycle times, provided that normal requirements are made of them, and particularly for bonding GF-UP moulded parts which are used in boat building or for bonding rotor blades on wind turbines. Their versatility means that they can be used for customised applications in a wide range of industries. Machine metering is possible in some cases and they have high impact resistance. If required, a curing indicator can be added, which indicates the amount of catalyst to use by means of a colour change.
Suitability for bonding other materials should be checked in advance in individual cases.
