Our Release Agents, Additives & Ancillaries

Release agents

There are various types of release agent depending on the type of composite material that is being made and the requirements for the release agent. BÜFA has a wide range of products in its portfolio, such as waxes and mould release agent systems for a variety of applications. They are used frequently to demould components from tools. They are easy to remove and do not leave any residues, making them suitable for many production processes.

It is important that the release agent used is suitable for the planned production process and there are no negative effects on the properties or performance of the composite material.

Primers

Primers are used to improve adhesion between the surface of the composite material and an additional layer. They are applied to the surface and form a kind of “bridge” between the surface of the composite material and the additional layer.

It is important that the primer used is suitable for the planned production process and there are no negative effects on the properties or performance of the composite material.

Other additives

Various types of additives can be used in the composite industry, e.g. to reduce the viscosity of resins. This may be necessary, for example, in the production of composite materials to make them easier to work with or to be able to use the resins in special applications such as injection processes. The properties of the final component can also be affected by additives. It is important that the additive used is suitable for the planned production process and there are no negative effects on the properties or performance of the composite material.

Other  examples of additives include solvents, thinners, flow improvers, blowing agents, lubricants, cleaners, sanding and polishing agents, mould cleaners, mould sealants, paraffin solutions and paraffin waxes to reduce styrene emissions.

For easy and efficient application of the BÜFA®-GRP Multi Cleaner, use the BÜFA®-Wash Wash Stations. The BÜFA®-GRP Multi Cleaner is heated by means of an integrated heater. Fast and easy cleaning of your tools is possible as a result.
