Innovations for More Efficient Processes and Enhanced Performance in the Composites Industry

Innovation is a decisive factor for sustainable success in the composites industry. New materials and technologies enable manufacturers to optimize processes, meet evolving market requirements, and strengthen their competitive position in the long term.

With this mindset, BÜFA Composites continuously develops solutions that not only meet current industry standards but also set new benchmarks in performance and process efficiency.

One example is BÜFA®-Firestop-Gelcoat-S 320 – an innovative solution for fire retardant applications in the railway industry. This high-performance gelcoat meets the requirements of EN 45545-2 with HL2 and HL3 (in combination with suitable paint systems), while being completely free of styrene, melamine, and halogens. At the same time, the system offers one of the highest Heat Deflection Temperatures (HDT) available on the market.

A key advantage is its universal approach: one gelcoat system covering multiple requirements helps reduce complexity in product selection, processing, and storage. This significantly improves efficiency throughout the entire value chain.

Another example is BÜFA®-Resin VE 6699 Tooling Infusion. The resin system has been specifically developed for mould making using closed infusion processes and supports emission-reduced, clean, and highly reproducible production. In addition to these process-related advantages, the system delivers excellent mechanical properties, outstanding heat resistance, and very low shrinkage for superior surface quality. BÜFA also actively supports customers in transitioning from open to closed processes by providing comprehensive process know-how and technical guidance.
