JEC World 2025
The JEC World 2025 is behind us – and it was an outstanding success! Three exciting days with a fantastic atmosphere, many interesting conversations, and new contacts. Many thanks to everyone who visited our booth!
Our Trade Fair Highlights:
The BÜFA®-Firestop-Gelcoat-S 320
A true trade fair highlight was the BÜFA®-Firestop-Gelcoat-S 320 – our new premium gelcoat for fire retardant. It offers outstanding heat deformation resistance, is free of styrene, melamine, and halogens, and meets international fire retardant standards such as EN 45545-2, HL2, and HL3 (with paint).
In the rail industry, it sets new standards – and when processed and painted as a system, it is the safest HL3 system on the market!
The S320 gelcoat can be flexibly combined with various BÜFA®-Firestop resins and is suitable for RTM, infusion, and HLU. It impresses with excellent processing properties – and thanks to its optimal viscosity and thixotropy, it is easy to apply using BÜFA Tec machines.

Our Exhibits – Innovation, Sustainability & Practical Application
At JEC World 2025, visitors experienced several groundbreaking BÜFA developments live:
Siemens Velaro Egypt Project – in Collaboration with BKT
In Siemens' "Velaro Egypt" project, extremely heat-resistant and highly flame-retardant components were required – for use under the most demanding climatic conditions. In collaboration with BKT Braunschweig, BÜFA®-Firestop systems such as the Gelcoat-S 285 and Resin 8175-W-1 were utilized.
Result: Roof and driver's cab components that withstand the highest requirements for temperature and fire retardant protection.

For the ID. Buzz project – VW's first all-electric van – the focus was on sustainable lightweight construction. Together with young talents, BÜFA developed a component concept based on bio-based resins and flax fibers – processed using the vacuum infusion method.
The result: A high-strength, CO₂-reduced tailgate with excellent aesthetics.

Another highlight: Our BÜFA®-rPET Resins, which contain up to 30% recycled PET. These sustainable polyester resins were showcased at the booth as sample granulate in glass columns – accompanied by an informative brochure and an exciting case study with Quantum Mouldings (UK).
The rPET systems offer comparable or even superior mechanical properties to traditional UP resins – while achieving up to 15% lower CO₂ footprint.
