BÜFA Composite Systems, provider of tailor-made specialist polyester resin products and complete solutions from Rastede in Germany, is taking over the distribution activities in the composites sector of Joh. Klinglhuber & Söhne Handelsgesellschaft mbH (JKS) in Austria as of 1 January 2023. In future, the company will be trading as BÜFA Composites Austria GmbH, which remains at its current location in Vienna.
As a result of the takeover of the Composites division of Joh. Klinglhuber & Söhne Handelsgesellschaft mbH (JKS), BÜFA Composite Systems is extending its presence both on the Austrian market and in eastern Europe. “We are delighted to welcome the team from the Composites division and the composites customers of JKS to BÜFA,”, says Felix Thalmann, Chair of the BÜFA Group, and adds: “The takeover is a good strategic opportunity for us to consolidate our leading position as a manufacturer of specialist products for the composites market in Europe further.”
The company JKS, which was founded in 1837, sells fibre reinforcements, separating and sliding agents, resins, processing systems and CORE materials for the plastics industries. There has already been a close partnership with BÜFA for more than 30 years. Together with AOC, which has been supplying resins to BÜFA Composite Systems for specialist processing for over six decades and with which there is also a close sales partnership, composites customers in numerous European markets can be supplied reliably with products and services from the complete range of BÜFA Composite Systems.
“The merger with JKS is the right move to strengthen our existing market activities and, with the existing JKS products combined with the specialist product and distribution portfolio of BÜFA Composite Systems, to become a professional, all-round provider of complete solutions to composites customers in Austria,” explains Lothar Kempf, Managing Director of BÜFA Composite Systems.
Eike Siegert, who was previously Regional Manager South-East Europe for BÜFA Composite Systems in Vienna and has many years of market and industry experience, will henceforth hold the position of Managing Director of BÜFA Composites Austria. “With this takeover, BÜFA is even closer to its customers on the ground in Austria,” adds Siegert.
“We are delighted to be putting the JKS composites sales activities into the safe hands of BÜFA Composites Austria. The life’s work of six generations is being continued. In Eike Siegert and Sales Director Christian Kubalek, we have two competent points of contact in this connection,” says Thomas Mayer, the descendant of the company’s founder Johann Klinglhuber.
About JKS
Joh. Klinglhuber & Söhne (JKS) was established in 1837 by Joh. Klinglhuber sen., a tradesman in Vienna Gumpendorf. The company traded in yarns of all sorts for the textile industry in the territory of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. From 1956, technical textiles such as fibreglass, carbon and aramid fibres were added as reinforcement materials for the plastics industry, followed by geotextiles, non-woven construction fabrics and construction grids for the building industry. In 1990, unsaturated polyester resins were included in the range and from 2001, machines with which to process them.
Thomas Mayer, the sixth-generation descendant of the company’s founder, and his team offer extremely innovative and high-quality products.
