The BÜFA Group has been awarded the Gold Award by EcoVadis, an independent service provider for sustainability evaluations. With an overall score of 73 out of 100 points, BÜFA is among the leading medium-sized enterprises in the category "Basic Chemical Production, Fertilizer Manufacturing, and Plastic Processing." EcoVadis evaluates company guidelines, measures, and public reporting in the four core areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. During the evaluation of data, analysts take into account the respective industry, company size, and geographical location.
In the area of environmental protection, which includes factors such as energy efficiency, CO2 emissions, water management, biodiversity, air quality, resource utilization, and waste management, BÜFA received a particularly high score. Through the independent evaluation by EcoVadis, BÜFA aims to continuously align its business activities more sustainably, from both an ecological and social perspective. Besides the successes achieved in sustainability, the EcoVadis assessment also provides hints on untapped potentials, risks, and concrete recommendations for action. This supports BÜFA in achieving its sustainability goals and contributes to enhancing sustainability performance and corporate value. BÜFA places great emphasis on transparency in its sustainable corporate governance and provides customers with access to the EcoVadis evaluation sheet. Yvonne Burmann, the Head of Sustainability Management at BÜFA, expresses positive views on the award:
"This excellent evaluation of our activities encourages us to continue pursuing our sustainability goals rigorously. However, we will not rest on the Gold Medal from EcoVadis, but will continuously improve in all areas."
